During the New European Bauhaus festival, we present the transformation of Prague's Magistrala into an urban boulevard. The project was initiated more than ten years ago by the non-profit organization Centre for Central European Architecture (CCEA) and is moving forward in cooperation with the City of Prague after the completion of a comprehensive study in 2023.

web of the project Magistrála = New Prague Boulevard
Since 2010, CCEA has been focusing on the reclamation of the Magistrála - a Prague transport structure from the 1970s that cut through the city center. Together with architects, designers, artists, and, most importantly, citizens, we are transforming the Magistrala step by step into a livable space for all - the New Prague Boulevard. The transport infrastructure created by planning in the 20th century represents an important element of public ownership that has the potential to strengthen public space towards a more community-driven democracy.
